Story

We had to dedicate a t-shirt to Moto Guzzi, the italian brand that marked the history of world motorcycling before and after the second world war. In 1919 in Giorgio Ripamonti’s old workshop started the history of Moto Guzzi (12,via Cavour, Mandello del Lario). In 1921, as printed on the t-shirt, the factory was born, but not everybody knows that in 1921 right around Como Lake, in the same year, the Lario racetrack arose, a motorcycling race craved by all pilots of that time which was nicknamed, for its difficulties, the italian Tourist Trophy. More than 300 bends and 500 meters of difference in height, with its higher point at 754 m. The racetrack average record was set by Nello Pagani on Moto Guzzi Condor 500, winner of the last edition in 1939 at the average of 84,101 km/h. The racetrack remained operative from 1921 to 1939, the first year Amedeo Ruggeri won on Harley-Davidson, the following years Guzzi and Bianchi alternate consecutive victories.
It behoved us to design a Mandello t-shirt that included this story.
